Sanitation Information at Main Station

Berlin, Germany // 19 November 2008 // Local Activist: German Toilet Organization

Informative Toilet Visits

Most people prefer to avoid toilets facilities at train stations. On the 19th of November 2008, however, most toilet users at Berlin’s main train station spent an unusually long time in the “WC-Center”.

It was World Toilet Day and we (German Toilet Organization) used the occasion to create public awareness. Along with the “Where Would You Hide?” exhibition figures, we used the event to test our newly developed information panels, challenging the viewer to imagine the consequences he or she would be faced with if no toilets were to be found anywhere.

The event was made possible with the support of Hering-Bau, who also assisted the event’s outreach by making access to the facilities free of charge and by collecting visitor feedback in sanitation-surveys.

We thank Hering-Bau and all toilet users on this day!

This a great news that GTO has organized such a great program for the children. We should educate them in that a way, they understand and do for their good in the future which they implement.

Thank you

As we say “Morning shows the Day”, same thing for the children. Small school children should have the knowledge of the sanitation and hygiene, which help them to be a better citizen of the nation. i personally really appreciate this program.

Thank you
