Disco Dance and Toilets

Lausanne, Switzerland // October 2006 // Local Activist: German Toilet Organization

In Lausanne the exhibition fitted neatly in amongst bars, restaurants and movie theatres. The “orange defecators” blended perfectly into the trendy surroundings – disguised as works of art. The casual location broke the ice and made it easier to talk toilets. “I wasn’t aware!” was the most frequent comment. Visitors throughout the week were particularly awestruck by the number of people living without toilets: 2.5 billion.

We thank everyone, who took the time to inform themself and pass the word to others. We wish we had better photos of the event at night. If you have any, please do let us know.

Many thanks also go to CWS for making the Lausanne event possible.
